Instead of reading about “giving effective feedback” and wondering how it applies to your defensive teammate, the AI coach walks you through exactly what triggers their shutdown and how to approach them.

About the Founder

Nicky Lawrence

I'm Nicky, and I've been building software for over 15 years. I founded and ran my own software company for seven years before becoming Director of Technology at a B2B fintech where I lead teams building mission-critical systems.

ManagerHow sits at the intersection of my two passions: creating beautiful, compelling software experiences and helping managers actually get good with people.

I've spent years coaching new managers, studying what makes great leadership, and figuring out how to translate research and frameworks into real conversations with real humans. I'm on that journey myself—constantly learning, constantly refining.

This is a real passion project for me. It's what I wish existed when I was struggling as a first-time manager. It's what I'd want for every manager I coach.

This is early-stage, beta software. It's good, but it's not perfect. Your job as a founding partner is to help make it better while introducing it to people who'll benefit from it.
